Using this learning space

Lesson materials

The English provides story-based American English learning activities for adults. Student access is by invitation. Review is available for stories released during lessons; account access does not include all future lessons.

Your account

Use your own invited email address and keep sign-in codes private. Sign out on shared devices. Access may be disabled if an account is misused or a lesson relationship ends. There is no website checkout or automatic paid subscription.

Reading recommendations

The reading check suggests a starting difficulty from a short sample. It is not a certified test, a complete CEFR assessment or a guarantee of proficiency. Story language can be adjusted during lessons.

Original stories and photographs

Stories are fictional learning materials. Photographs illustrate situations and do not identify real people as fictional characters. Photography credits and licenses are listed separately. Do not redistribute course materials or present them as your own.

Availability and questions

Features may change and occasional interruptions can occur. If access or a saved lesson looks wrong, bring it up during a lesson so it can be checked. There are no student recordings or automated speaking scores.
